Education
We recognize that every child has the right to education. Unfortunately, many girls inour community are denied this fundamental right. Enkishon Sidai Africa has been working tirelessly to ensure that girls have access to education by providing high school and university scholarships to bright yet vulnerable children in Narok. We have collaborated with various stakeholders and community to ensure that these girls are able to attend school and pursue their dreams.
Health
In an effort to reduce teenage pregnancy in Narok, Enkishon Sidai Africa has partnered with several schools to raise awareness on sexual and reproductive health rights. This initiative aims to ensure that adolescent girls are well-informed about menstrual hygiene and sexual reproductive health. Given that Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is practiced in the Maasai community, we also conduct anti-FGM advocacy in both schools and the broader community. Additionally, we promote community-led alternative rites of passage to ensure that girls transition from childhood to womanhood without undergoing the cut.
Sustainable Livelihood
Our efforts as Enkishon Sidai Africa are aimed at building resilient livelihoods where community climate resilience is achieved through diverse practices that build on community resources that the community members mobilize themselves to cope or adapt to climatic changes while navigating uncertainty.
